Ride for America 2002 was the first big ride I took my gelding Ringo on
He was a perfect angel of course
This event was put together to raise money for the Sept 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center
It started with a group of people in Canada who raised money for the families of the attack
They rode their horses to the US border, passed the money onto members of the Blackfoot reservation
who continued the journey, destination, New York.
They raised money and awareness along the way
We were very fortunate to be able to join this group on 3 days of the journey through the Black Hills
